Suntory Limited has recently announced some price hikes on standard releases. Whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita will be affected, as well as Hibiki and Ao.
In a press release Suntory said “we will be implementing price revisions in order to further improve the brand value by improving the quality of the contents, strengthening our production facilities, and manufacturing in an environmentally friendly manner.”

Whilst the price rises will be used to fund Suntory’s operations, it will also make some premium whiskies inaccessible. This price rise comes after a previous hike in 2022, meaning that for Japanese whisky fans, their favourite drams are moving further and further out of reach.
So, if you would like to buy a Suntory whisky at retail, better to try and get them now than after the price rises come into effect in April 2024.
