Mark-Littler-Carbine

By entering this rare 16th century carbine into a very specialist sale we were able to sell it for £21,000 – a local auction house had quoted the client £1,000-1,500.

Who are Mark Littler Ltd?

Mark Littler Ltd. was established in 2016 and incorporated in 2018 and is now positioned as one of the largest independent consultants and whisky brokers in the UK. We have brokered millions of pounds worth of sales for our happy customers, helping to sell everything from Lowry prints to Micromosaic art and bottles of whisky to whole casks of whisky.

We have over 250 independent, five-star reviews across Google, Yell and Facebook, so you can be confident that you are in expert hands.

Why Mark Littler Ltd. was created

In 2016, after 8 years working in the auction industry, Mark was inspired to set up his business due to his wife Katy’s career as an independent financial advisor.

In finance it is expected that customers have all the options explained to them, rather than just be sold one service. Whereas Mark’s experience in the antiques and collectable whisky industry had left him feeling that customers were not being fairly represented.

After 5 years working in North Yorkshire for the largest provincial saleroom in the UK, Mark moved back to Cheshire to set up an independent consultancy. The basis of Mark’s business would be to give clients honest advice on how best to sell their items whether that be via auction or a private sale.

In 2018 Mark Littler Ltd. was incorporated and continues to expand by offering a sought-after combination of honesty, exceptional industry contacts and great value. Furthermore we continue to get our customers the best price for their items.

Mark Littler MA

Director

Mark has a BA in Fine Art and Art History, and an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Manchester where the focus for his thesis was the sociological construct of value in cultural goods, i.e. why is one painting worth more than another.

Mark moved into the Antiques and whisky industry after he graduated and launched the business in 2016 following a 10 year career as an auctioneer. Mark’s first son, James, was born in January 2018. When not working or tidying up after James he likes to say he enjoys cycling and running, although he seems to spend more time on the sofa than in the saddle!

Hannah Thompson

Executive Assistant & Content Creator

Hannah joined Mark Littler in 2019. She has a BSc in Geography from the University of Sheffield and studied a Mres in Climate Change Impacts at the University of Exeter before spending 4 years working in the travel industry and developing her skills as a marketer.

Hannah’s move into the antiques and whisky industry came after a childhood accompanying her parents around salerooms and trying to talk them into buying charming, but completely impractical, pieces of cottage furniture. Hannah enjoys running, going on walks and trying to grow vegetables, she also likes to write in her spare time.
