White Peak Distillery has launched Wire Works Caduro X, a limited-edition single malt English whisky created to celebrate the Derbyshire producer’s 10th anniversary. Only 1,000 bottles of the lightly peated expression have been produced, with sales beginning on 25th April at the distillery, online, and through select UK retailers including The Whisky Exchange and The Whisky Shop.
The whisky carries a recommended retail price of £75. It is bottled at 46.8% ABV, presented at natural colour and non-chill filtered.

Founded in 2016, White Peak Distillery operates from the restored 19th-century Johnson & Nephew Wire Works in Ambergate, a site now part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The distillery has won more than 25 awards, including Whisky of the Year 2026 from The Whisky Exchange and Best World Whisky 2025 at the Online Scotch Whisky Awards.
Caduro X takes its inspiration from Caduro, part of the Wire Works Provenance Core range. It is a vatting of first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and STR (shaved, toasted and re-charred) ex-red wine casks. The expression blends both “regular-cuts” and “alt-cuts” single malts, with alternate distillation cut-points designed to enhance a brighter, more tropical fruit-forward profile alongside a subtle increase in peat influence.
The whisky has been proofed using a technique the distillery calls “special waters.” This involves maturing low-strength spirit in oak casks to extract additional water-soluble flavours and textures.
Claire Vaughan, co-founder of White Peak, said: “Over the past ten years, we’ve taken a hands-on approach to learn more about how whisky develops its character — exploring every step from mashing and fermentation through distillation, maturation and vatting. Caduro X marks a milestone, but moreover is the evolution of these ideas.”
She added: “What’s made the journey truly special, though, is the community around us. From the very beginning, we’ve been supported by an incredible group of people who’ve believed in what we’re building. We hope the next ten years continue in that same spirit — bringing people together, sharing what we make, and always striving to do it better.”
The official tasting notes from the brand describe Caduro X as delivering a rich, sweet and spicy character layered with orchard and tropical fruits, toffee, chocolate, and a gentle thread of smoke.
On the nose, the distillery notes banoffee pie, egg custard tarts, Murray mints, wine gums, baked apple, strawberry laces, orange zest, and a hint of peat.
The palate offers cinnamon rolls, butter icing, pineapple cubes, milk chocolate, yoghurt-coated cranberries, marmalade, nutmeg, and gentle tannins.
The finish brings cinder toffee, candied ginger, cinnamon balls, honey, apple sours, and soft wood smoke.
