The Glenturret Lalique Restaurant in Crieff, Perthshire, has been added to 50 Best Discovery, the global collection of city guides highlighting the world’s leading restaurants, bars, hotels and vineyards. The two Michelin-starred restaurant sits within The Glenturret Distillery, Scotland’s oldest working distillery. It opened in 2021, combining fine dining with the site’s whisky heritage.
Under Executive Chef Mark Donald, the restaurant earned its first Michelin star just seven months after opening. It has held a second star since February 2024.

Venues on the platform are chosen after receiving votes from the expert Academies that compile the 50 Best global and regional lists. More than 3,000 Academy members take part.
The latest update added over 210 restaurants, 110 bars and 130 hotels. It also introduced vineyards as a new category, with more than 190 added. In total, 50 Best Discovery now features over 3,500 establishments across more than 800 cities and towns.
The dining room overlooks the River Turret and is surrounded by the distillery’s ancient grounds. Chef Donald and his team work closely with local growers, producers and fishers, and often forage themselves.
Guests can extend their visit with an overnight stay at The Aberturret Estate House, a recently renovated 19th-century Dower house once owned by the Murray Clan, who founded the distillery more than 260 years ago.
The tasting menu costs £220 per person, with wine pairing available. Gastronomic overnight stays start from £790 based on double occupancy.
