Macallan 10-year-old is one of the Macallan Distillery’s most widely available vintage series. There are a number of series, strengths and variations, which means a bottle of Macallan 10-year-old can be worth anything from £150 to £2,000.

Release decade
Older bottlings are worth more. These were priced and released as drinking bottles so many of the older bottles have been drunk, there are therefore limited numbers remaining, which drives up prices.
- 1970s bottles of Macallan 10 Year old have achieved over £1,600-£2,300 at auction
- 1980s bottles of Macallan 10 are worth around £300-£500
- 1990s-2000s bottles of Macallan 10 Year old are worth £250-£350
- Modern style Macallan 10 Year Old bottles are less commercial at around £150-£200

As with all Macallan releases, special edition series or series with limited bottling numbers command a premium.

How Much Is Macallan 18-Year-Old Worth?
Macallan 18 year old is one of Macallan’s most popular bottles with collectors. There is a broad range of vintages for collectors to acquire and they are neither common nor very rare so that they are not too difficult to get hold of but still command a premium.
The vintages for Macallan 18 year old run from 1963 to 1985 for the vintage style bottles, 1986 onward (released in 2004) the modern style bottle was used with the familiar purple box.
As with most series the older vintages are rarer and therefore command a premium compared to the modern style bottles. There are also some import style bottles that can command a premium to the right buyer.
The 1965 vintage achieved around £4,000 when it was last seen at auction, compared to £1,850 for the 1985 vintage – the older vintages haven’t been seen at auction recently and will likely command a premium for a bottle in good condition.

How Much is Macallan Archival Folio Series Worth?
Macallan release an annual Folio Series which celebrates the old advertising strategies and styles of Macallan from their archive.
The folio series are matured in sherry casks and each edition has a unique bottle design and comes with a book and in a book shaped case. The original releases were limited to 2,000 bottles and only available from the distillery and these are currently the most collectable bottles of the series.
Folio 1 has sold at auction for up to £10,000
Folio 2 and 3 and 4 sells at auction for £3,500-£5,500
Folio 5 and 6 sells at auction for around £1,300 at present

How Much is Macallan Classic Cut Worth?
The classic cut series is a modern Macallan release originally only available to the US market. It achieves around £140 for the Classic Cut 2017 release and less than £100 for the 2019 release.
This is one to hold on to or enjoy with friends.
How Much Is Macallan Edition 1-6 Worth?
This is a modern series of Macallan with each edition created as a unique collaboration or celebration.
Macallan Edition 1 was released in 2015 exclusively for the American and Taiwan market and celebrates the different size of casks. It sells for around £1,000.
Macallan Edition 2 was released in 2016 in collaboration with the El Celler De Can Roca Restaurant in Catalonia, Spain. It sells for £150-£250 at auction.
Macallan Edition 3 was created in 2017 with a perfume expert as a blend of 3 types of cask. It sells for around £120 at auction.
Macallan Edition 4 was released in 2018 to celebrate the opening of the new distillery at Macallan. It sells for around £100 at auction.
Macallan Edition 5 was created in collaboration with Pantone Color Institute, the people behind the stunning purple colour of Edition No.5. It was released it 2019 and currently sells at auction for around £150-£200.
Macallan Edition 6 was released in late 2020, in collaboration with the Atlantic Salmon Trust. It currently sells for around £150.

How much is Macallan Fine & Rare worth?
The Macallan Fine and Rare series is a collection of the oldest and most prestigious releases by Macallan released as single cask bottlings of exceptional vintages..
As with most series, the older vintages are more sought after and the older the age of the whisky the more valuable. Prices for individual bottles start at around £8,000 for some 30-year-old vintages to in excess of £20,000 for some of the earlier vintage 50 year old releases
We should also include the bottles of 1926 60-year-old that were bottled in the classic ‘Fine and Rare’ style bottles and which achieved a record-breaking auction price of £1.5million in October 2019.
Other bottlings of the 1926 60-year-old with labels by Valerio Adami, Peter Blake, and a hand-painted bottle by Michael Dillon sell from anywhere between £700,000-£1.5million.

How Much Is Macallan Fine Oak Worth?
The Macallan Fine Oak series is a modern series of bottles released at a variety of age statements that were matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks and finished in European oak ex-sherry casks. They are available as 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, 18, 21 and 30 year old releases, with some of those ages being discontinued.
Prices range from £50 -£180 for the younger 8-18-year-old bottles and £500 to £2,800 for the 21 and 30 year old bottles.
As some of the younger editions are no longer available we would suggest holding on to these bottles as they may become more valuable in the future. How much is Macallan Genesis worth?
Macallan Genesis bottles were released in 2018 to celebrate the opening of the new distillery.
Of the standard Macallan Genesis there was only 2,500 bottles produced and they have become somewhat of a cult bottle despite having no age statement, distillation year or cask type known about them.
At their peak in late 2018 the standard Macallan Genesis bottles sold for £4,800 at auction, they now achieve the more moderate price of £2,000.
There is also a 72-year-old Macallan Genesis bottled in Lalique as an edition of only 600 bottles. This is the oldest Macallan whisky ever released and bottles of this iconic whisky sell for £65,000-£90,000 at auction.

How much is Macallan Gran Reserva worth?
The Macallan Gran Reserva series is a series of bottles released between 1997 and 2002. Most vintages were released as 18 year old bottlings and there are a few that were released with no age statements but do display a distillation year and bottling year.

How much is Macallan Private Eye worth?
Macallan Private Eye was a limited-edition series released in 1996 in collaboration with Private Eye Magazine. It is one of the most collectable bottles of Macallan despite being an edition of 5,000 bottles and having no age statement or distillation year.
Bottles of Macallan Private eye sell for £3,000-£5,000, with the top figure being achieved in April 2021.

How much is Macallan Diamond Jubilee worth?
There are two bottles of Macallan to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The official distillery bottling of Macallan Diamond Jubilee was released in 2012 as a limited edition of 2,012 bottles. It has a bespoke portrait sculpture of the queen on the bottle and goes for around £3,400-£5,000.
Gordon and MacPhail also released a 25-year old botting to celebrate the Silver Jubilee and that bottling goes for around £1,000-£1,900 at auction.
