Naming Rights

All casks listed come with full naming rights held with the distillery. This means the spirit can be described as having been distilled at that distillery (for example, “distilled at the Macallan distillery”), rather than being sold under a pseudonym or generic description. While all labelling must comply with trademark regulations, this distinction is important, as casks without naming rights are often required to use alternative names, which can limit their appeal. As a result, casks with full naming rights typically command stronger demand and higher values over time.

Delivery Order & Storage

Every cask purchased through Mark Littler Ltd is transferred with a delivery order and an active warehouse account in the buyer’s name, giving you full control over the cask. This is the industry-recognised method of ownership.

Buyers should exercise caution where only a certificate is provided, as this does not confer the same level of legal title or control.

We had a fantastic experience selling our cask of whisky with Mark Litter Ltd. Katy and Mark made the entire process smooth, straightforward, and genuinely pleasant from start to finish.

After our initial call with Mark, where he clearly explained how everything would work, the process unfolded exactly as described—no surprises, just great communication and professionalism throughout.

We felt well supported at every stage and truly appreciated how easy they made it. We would highly recommend them to anyone considering selling a cask.
Mark and Katy helped me sell a cask of whisky. The whole process was made easy and understandable. In the end the sale went ahead exactly the way Mark laid out on our first telephone conversation. I would very much recommend him to anyone in the same position I found myself.
Mark and Katy made the whole process of selling my casks easy and took all the stress and admin out of my hands. Great final result and excellent communication. Many thanks
I can’t recommend Mark and Katy enough. My whisky casks were sold for more than I expected. This was done with minimum fuss. Their communication was great and I shall be using them again.
It was a pleasure to deal with Mark and his team in the sale of my whisky cask. Excellent customer service, communication, professional, helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Overall, I would have no hesitation in endorsing Mark Littler Ltd in achieving the best price if you are looking to sell your cask.
I wanted to sell a couple of whisky casks and used Mark Littler Ltd as my whisky broker. Apparently it is a slow process but Mark Littler managed to push the sale through quickly and at a good price. I have no hesitation in leaving this 5* review for the company.
I was very happy with the service Mark provided in selling my cask, he got the target price that was agreed at the outset.
Great service from beginning to end when we wanted to sell our Ben Nevis cask.
Buyer was found very quick and the transaction went smooth.
We also got to keep six sample bottles which we finally got delivered, after some issues with swedish Customs (again great support from Hannah at ML).

Thanks for everything!
I had several casks of Scotch for many years and wanted to sell them. I'm in the US and was completely unaware as to how to do so. I cannot recommend Mark Littler LTD highly enough. Mark walked me through the steps of the process of selling from start to finish and it was flawless. Communication was excellent. My casks were sold quickly and for a very fair price.
I’ve waited a while to write a review but after 9 months of buying a cask of whiskey through mark littler ltd must say very happy how everything was explained and discussed mainly with Hannah
Once we decided to go with mark littler
Everything was done extremely professional and quite quick always informed what was going on
Now, very excited to let our cask mature over many years and hopefully both parties can earn a little bit of profit in the future thanks
Helped with selling of my Bruichladdich whisky cask.
Excellent services from first contact to payment.
Good information and updates along the way.
After 20 years I'm a bit maudlin at seeing my madeira butt go but the process was made easier by recruiting Mark Littler to assist.
Communications with Mark and his team are quick and simple. What Mark says, he does, with openess and integrity which in these times of charlatanism is a relief to come across. His counsel and advice held water and helped me realise one of my ambitions.

I contacted Mark after hearing him speak on the BBC's 'The Food Programme'. My thoughts were that if the BBC's production team had vetted him and found all wholesome then he would be good enough for me. As a result, I can reccomend Mark wholeheartedly. I will be going back to Mark in 5 years time when those casks I bought for our children will need to be sold to help them onto their respective property ladders.

Many thanks Mark and team.
After my cask reached 10 years old I asked the distillery for a buy back price, which I thought was very low. Apparently they have no outlet for them. So deciding to sell privately I found Mark and contacted him based on previous reviews. I was not disappointed, he handled the sale from start to finish and sold my cask for 4x what the distillery had offered. When my next one comes of age Mark will be my first port of call.
Selling my cask with Mark Little was easy. Details of the process and the costs were explained clearly and I was kept informed as the sale progressed.
Selling a hogshead of whisky cask, I considered a broker to be a better bet than selling through auction (with all it's uncertainties). A good decision on my part. Excellent service from beginning to end. Mark kept in touch throughout the whole process, from the initial phone conversation about valuation (he was spot on by the way!), to talking me through the final selling stage. Completely seamless from my end. I wish I had another cask to sell! No hesitation to recommend Mark and his team.
Great service from Mark and his team in selling my whisky cask. Each step of the process was explained and went very smoothly to achieve a good result for me.Thanks again.
I sold a cask via Mark and must say he is an absolute professional. From the start of the consultation to the closure of the deal and payments everything was perfect. If you want to sell or buy a cask I would highly recommend Mark.
Just completed the sale of my cask through Mark Littler and with assistance from Hannah Thompson. A very efficient process which achieved my sale expectations. Both provided a friendly and knowledgeable service and are highly recommended
Special and rare cask sold professionally. Kept me up to date throughout the process. Great result.
First class service from Mark and his team from start to finish.

Knowledgeable and innovative when selling 60 bottles of single cask whisky for me.
I used Mark Littler to help me sell two casks of whiskey and was very happy with the service and outcome. Very friendly, professional and helpful throughout the process and they achieved a what I believe was a very good price for me. Highly recommended
Having bought a cask of whisky back in 2004 we decided that this year was the year to sell it. I approached three different brokers and it wasn't a hard decision to ask Mark to arrange the sale for us. It wasn't only that he said he could achieve the best price for the cask but his professional manor and clear level of knowledge.
To sales process was relatively simple with excellent communication throughout. He assisted us with drawing several bottles prior to sale and the logistics of moving the cask.
Overall a first class service and if you are wondering he achieved slightly more than the suggested sale price. This was over three times what the first broker offered and 50% more than the second.
Mark was both patient and professional, initially advising and then successfully selling a whisky cask. He, and his staff, talked me through the process, highlighting both opportunities and pitfalls, with simplicity and the minimum of jargon. Mark is extremely knowledgeable on both the distillery side and the market, evident with the excellent price achieved.
I have used Mark Littler Ltd for a number of whisky cask purchases. He runs a friendly, approachable and customer-focused company, and is always ready to help with any issues or questions. He is a charming and professional broker, and understands the market and the needs of his customers. Above all, he listens and offers sound guidance which I always pay attention to .
Absolutely brilliant company to do business with, will use again and again and have no hesitation in recommending Mark Littler Ltd. Outstanding,
Mark recently sold two casks of mature whisky on my behalf. The service that he provided from start to finish was exemplary. His care and customer focus was faultless, explaining every step in the process and continually updating me on progress. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mark as the perfect person to deal with your sale.
