Claxton’s has opened a major new bonded warehouse on the Dalswinton Estate in Dumfries and Galloway, significantly expanding its whisky cask storage and maturation capacity. The HMRC-approved Glenbrae Bond facility, built within a disused quarry on the estate, can hold up to 24,000 casks and is designed to meet growing global demand for premium cask storage services.
The warehouse represents a substantial investment by Claxton’s in infrastructure and scale. It offers fully insulated, purpose-built storage with custom steel racking systems for precision cask management and regulatory compliance.

The facility is positioned to serve a broad client base, from private cask owners and independent bottlers to new whisky brands and established global players. Its location provides convenient access to major transport links to Glasgow, Edinburgh, and beyond.
Glenbrae Bond offers both long-term maturation and flexible short-term storage. The site combines modern and traditional techniques to maintain what the company describes as optimal environmental conditions for spirit ageing. Claxton’s team also provides an extensive range of cask shapes, sizes, and finishes for re-racking to support varied maturation goals.
Security is a central feature of the operation, with 24-hour monitoring in place. The company’s expert team offers guidance to new cask owners on maturation planning, duty and tax implications, re-racking options, and cask visits.
The new warehouse complements the existing Dalswinton Bond facility on the same estate. Clients of Glenbrae Bond gain access to an on-site tasting room for private sampling, a bar for hosted experiences, and guided tours of the 5,000-acre historic Dalswinton estate.
Tom Roskams, Director at Claxton’s, said: "The launch of Glenbrae Bond marks another huge milestone for the business. Demand for world-class, flexible warehousing is global, and we meet that need at scale, while maintaining the detailed level of service and expertise our clients expect."
He added: "We’re a trusted partner for trade customers, brand owners, and industry professionals worldwide, delivering secure storage, expert handling, and a premium experience. Combined with the unique setting and facilities at Dalswinton Bond, we offer something truly distinctive."
The expansion comes amid rising international interest in Scotch whisky cask investment and independent bottling, with warehouse capacity across Scotland increasingly in demand.
